I am excited to serve as Governmental Affairs Chair for 2009-2010 for the Association of Realtors. There will be lots of meetings to attend because I also will serve on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee, but I have always found this time well spent.
It is a great privilege and responsibility to serve a trade association with nearly 20,000 members. I have always been impressed...
One popular question we have received over the past few years is "How do current real estate market conditions impact Flat Fee Listings?"
My answer is simple: Flat Fee MLS is healthy, and awareness of flat fee MLS as a home selling option continues to steadily grow.
This is based on a fact that hasn't changed in any market: it is the MLS that connects the buyers to the sellers. Good market or...
I've had more than one interview where I was concerned that the reporter didn't adequately understand the topic, but this was the opposite extreme. The reporter for this article really hit the ball out of the park, in my opinion.
Angie's List just published an article entitled "Home buyers, sellers empowered by online information" and the reporter Paul Pogue did an excellent job. Granted, he...
We are starting to see more and more listings with video tours of the property. When tours are done well, they are a great tool for increasing buyer interest in the property. The videos are still new enough that they make a listing stand out from other listings.

As you know, real estate agents seek out both buyers and sellers to work with. An agent helping...
Contrary to the repeated headlines we have read over the past two months, the real estate market isn't dead or dying. Many of our sellers who are currently listed have been pleasantly surprised at the amount of buyer and offer activity they have seen.
Granted, no one will confuse this market with 2004. But there is reason for optimism, many reasons in fact:
Buyer and purchase agreement...
Yes, there are multiple independent websites where our customers have posted flat fee MLS reviews about our service. Call or email us, we can email you a link to these websites. These websites show customers commenting and reviewing our service in their own words. We strongly recommend that you look for independent reviews, not just testimonials posted on a company’s own website.

We recently had a flat fee mls seller send us pictures for their property. The pictures were ok, good but not great, but there was a problem. They showed the home and lot covered with snow. Now normally that is fine but it was August, and this wasn't in one of the few places in the world that have snow in August (no we don't list in the Southern Hemisphere, yet).
Consumer Reports has weighed in on real estate commissions, and the results point directly to using a flat fee listing broker, which is no surprise to me. The articles appear in their September 2008 issue. Consumer Reports is perhaps the best known and longest running consumer advocacy organization, which is described as "No brand is more widely recognized and trusted than Consumer Reports....
